Mexichem is a Mexican producer of plastic pipes, and is the third largest chemical and petrochemical company in Latin America after Brazilian Braskem and its rival Alpek. It was founded in 1953. The company delivers an extended portfolio of products used in high growth sectors such as infrastructure, housing, telecommunications, drinking and potable water in Mexico, the USA, Europe, Asia, Africa (South Africa), Middle East (Oman), and Latin America. The Company has been traded on the Mexican Securities Exchange for more than 30 years. Headquarters are located in Tlalnepantla, Mexico.[1]

History

On August 7, 2017, Mexichem SA announced it would acquire the Israeli irrigation company Netafim from Permira Holdings Ltd. for $1.5 billion.[2][3]
