Marx's Theory of Ideology is a 1982 book about Karl Marx by the political theorist Bhikhu Parekh. The work was inspired by Parekh's experience of racial discrimination in British society.[1]

Parekh provided an exposition of the Marxist theory of ideology,[2] arguing that Marx has a reductionist account of politics and lacks the resources to provide a coherent political philosophy.[1]
Reception
Marx's Theory of Ideology was reviewed by Nicholas Abercrombih in Sociology.[3] The political theorist Terrell Carver, writing in an appendix to the 1995 edition of Karl Marx: His Life and Environment, called the book a classic exposition of the Marxist theory of ideology.[2]
