Evaluations in books

The political theorist Norman Geras, writing in Marx and Human Nature (1983), criticized Marx's Theory of Alienation. Geras found the work to be an example of the way in which Marxists have illogically denied that there is such a thing as human nature even while engaging in analysis of Marx that depends on the concept of a human nature.[4] The political scientist David McLellan, writing in The Thought of Karl Marx: An Introduction (1995), considered Marx's Theory of Alienation a good account of the continuity in Marx's thought, although an obscurely written and awkwardly constructed one.[5] The philosopher Peter Osborne, writing in A Critical Sense: Interviews with Intellectuals (2013), stated that Marx's Theory of Alienation established Mészáros's reputation in the English-speaking world.[6]
