Marin Aničić (Croatian pronunciation: [mǎrin ǎnitʃitɕ]; born 17 August 1989) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Kazakhstan Premier League club Astana and Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

Club career

Aničić started his career at boyhood club Zrinjski Mostar, debuting at the age of 18.[2]

On 5 February 2014, Aničić signed for Kazakh side Astana.[3] In his first season, he helped the team win their first ever Kazakhstan Premier League title.[4] He also helped the team reach UEFA Champions League group stage for the first time, in 2015–16 season.[5]

International career

Aničić made six appearances for Bosnia and Herzegovina U21 team, three in UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying matches[6] and three in friendly matches against Slovenia[7], Turkey[8] and Macedonia.[9]

Aničić received first senior call-up in September 2015, for UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying games against Belgium and Andorra.[10] He made his debut on 25 March 2016, in a friendly game against Luxembourg.[11]
