Madhabdev College is a premier institution of higher education in Narayanpur of Lakhimpur district, Assam. Established in 1964 and affiliated to Dibrugarh University, it offers education in the streams of Arts and Science at +2 and Undergraduate level. lt has 14 full fledged teaching departments with the adequate infrastructure.

The college in its humble way helps to spread higher education in this tribal belt of rural and backward area of the state besides trimming talents in fields of games and sports, culture, literature and social service.

Academic

The college offers courses leading to two years H.S, Arts and Science, B.A. & B.Sc. Program in Semester System (six Semesters). The mediums of instruction are both English and Assamese.

H.S Arts and Science: The candidates who have passed 10th standard are eligible to take admission in to the course.

Science : English, MIL (Assamese) Optional- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.

Arts : English, MIL(Assamese) Optional- Economics, Education, History, Logic & Philosophy, Mathematics, Political Science And Sociology

B.A. & B.Sc Program in Semester System (Six Semesters) :The candidates who have passed +2 or equivalent standard are eligible to seek admission into the BA & B.sc. Program in Semester System (Six Semesters).

Bachelor of Arts(B.A) : A student who has passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) of the Assam Higher secondary Education Council, or an Equivalent examination (10+2) recognized as such by the university, shall be eligible for admission into the First semester of the Six semester Degree Course in Arts.

Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) : A student who has passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) in science of the Assam Higher Secondary Education council, or an equivalent examination (10+2) recognized. as by the university, shall be eligible for admission into the First semester of the Six Semester Degree Course in Science.

Library

Madhabdev College Library was established in the year 1964 along with the Establishment of the Institute. It is one of the well-equipped libraries in the entire North Lakhimpur district of Assam covering all fields of all major disciples of Science and Social Sciences along with the Literature. The Library is located in front of the College main gate having a Carpet Area of 2400 Sq ft (both Stack Area and Reading Room). There are about 16000 print documents, which consist of Books, Journals, Dissertations etc and a good number of electronic resources particularly E-Journals subscribed through N-LIST Consortium. There are different corners within the Library like Reading Room corner, Textbook corner, Periodical corner, Reference corner, and Dissertation corner and a Competitive Examination Corner for preparation of different competitive examinations. It provides a very strong support in terms of providing Library and Information Services to its user fraternity within the Campus as well as plan have been initiated to provide the innovative services like Digital Reference Services, Electronic Document Delivery Services beyond the four walls of the library

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Madhabdev College was formed in 2004, just before the accreditation of the college by the NAAC.

Objectives :

• To develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution. • To workout measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices. Functions :

   1 Development and application of quality parameters for various academic and administrative activities of the institution.
   2 Facilitating the creation of a learner-centrist environment conducive to quality education and faculty improvement to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process.
   3 Arrangement for feedback response from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional performance.
   4 Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education.
   5 Organization of inter and intra institutional workshops, seminars on quality related issues and promotion of quality circles.
   6 Documentation of the various programs/activities leading to quality improvement.
   7 Acting as a nodal agency of the Institution for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices.
   8 Development and maintenance of institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality.
   9 Development of Quality Culture in the institution.
   10 Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) as per guidelines and parameters of NAAC, to be submitted to NAAC.
