Mannava Sri Kanth Prasad
Prasad earned attention after performing well for the Andhra Pradesh cricket team. Following its 1997–98 tour of Pakistan, Krishnamachari Srikkanth was amongst those who spoke highly of his capability. Even before the season had finished, Prasad had made his debut.
Following an injury to Nayan Mongia in the 1999 World Cup, Prasad was given his chance at the international level. He played in six tests in 1999–2000 and several more one-day matches. After that
Prasad continued his flop performance in domestic cricket even after national, when selectors picked Vijay Dahiya, Saba Karim, Nayan Mongia, Deep Das Gupta, Sameer Dighe, Ajay Ratra and Parthiv Patel in a virtual merry go round from 2000–2003.
Prasad captained Andhra till 2007 and in 2008 announced his retirement from all forms of the game at a young age of 33. He was then chosen National selector in 2015 which he described as an honour. Prasad also served as selector for Indian Colts(U-19 National Cricket Team).
Chief selector of BCCI
Prasad has been chosen to succeed Sandeep Patil as the Chairman of India's selection panel on 21 September 2016.
