Marathwada Institute of Technology (MIT), is one of the technical institutes of Gramodyogik Shikshan Mandal (GSM) and is located in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India. The MIT Aurangabad campus has of a unique digital library with knowledge center and Red Hat Academy 38 acres area.

The exclusive Central library is spread over 1500 sq.metres area with more than 85000 volumes, 25000 titles, and 350 periodicals. Similarly, students and faculty have access to more than 1000 e-books and more than 1000 national and international journals. MIT is the pioneer in setting up a digital library in this region.

All the Departments in the Institutes are equipped with well-furnished Seminar Halls. Provision of state of the art digital classrooms are also available in the departments to make the learning process more effective. Interactive learning with online support is a common feature on the campus.

There are separate Hostels for boys and girls. Amenities such as reading room, indoor games room, lounge and dining hall and a mess are facilitated for every hostel.The internet and intranet are available to each hostel. 24/7 basis power supply is available.

There are also sports facilities like a spacious playground for games and recreation. Games like cricket, football and volleyball are quite popular games at MIT. MIT also has dedicated playing areas for indoor games like badminton, carom, chess etc.

Admissions

Admission to the undergraduate courses is through the Maharashtra-Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) for state-allocated seats (65%) and through the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) for the all-India seats.

Accolades

MIT is a part of National Knowledge Network, Government of India. It is the first academic institution in India which has been recognised as an Energy Service Company (ESCO) approved by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency under the Ministry of Power. In January 2010, MIT finished first at the Baja SAEIndia 2010 National Competition held at Pithampura, Indore.

MIT's BTech courses with industry-ready contents have been ranked top in the region of Marathwada and tenth in state of Maharashtra.

A survey ranking the top 100 engineering institutions in India, compiled by Outlook magazine in partnership with Marketing & Development Research Associates using parameters of selection process, academic excellence and personality development, industrial exposure, infrastructure and placement, placed MIT 79th.
