Mikhail Puteiko

Mikhail Konstantinovich Puteiko (1913 - 21 April 1945) was a Soviet general who was killed in action during the Second World War.

He was born near Minsk.^[1] He commanded of the 254th Rifle Division, the first Soviet unit to cross River Prut and enter Romania.^[2]

He died commanding this unit (in the 73rd Rifle Corps of the 52nd Army) during the battle of Bautzen).^[1] At the time of his death, he was one of the youngest generals of the Red Army.^[1] He is buried in Lviv.^[1]
