Luis de Garrido

Luis de Garrido Talavera (1967) is a Spanish architect. Luis de Garrido works with sustainable architecture in Spain. During recent years he has only accepted projects where very strict ecological, health and environmental criteria are always respected.

Biography

Luis de Garrido studied architecture in the UPV Polytechnic University of Valencia where he graduated with a doctorate. He also completed a master's degree in Urban Design at the (Polytechnic University of Catalonia). Later he moved to the United States where he studied computer science, to be graduated with a doctorate.

During this time he taught a large range of subjects at the information technology faculty at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), the information technology faculty at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), in the school of telecommunications. Universitat Ramón Llull (URL). Barcelona, and as associate professor at the Architectural school at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) and at the Architectural school at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC).

He has also worked as a visiting professor at the School of Architecture, Edinburgh, Scotland. UK, the Ecóle d´Architecture de Marseille, France, the TEC University, Monterrey, Mexico,the Valle University- Constuir corporation, Cali, Colombia,the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, USA,the Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, the Université de Paris-Sud. France, among many other Universities.

Currently, Luis de Garrido directs an architectural firm "Luis De Garrido Architects", in Valencia, Spain, involved in deep green advanced architecture. He also directs a research and educational advanced master course entitled Advanced Master course in Green and Bioclimatic Architecture (MAS).
