Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF), formerly known as Liverpool Mathew Street Music Festival, is an award-winning event held annually in Liverpool at Sefton Park.

Overview
Established in 2012, Liverpool International Music Festival is an annual event that takes place in the stunning surroundings of Sefton Park, Liverpool organised by Culture Liverpool. LIMF has become renowned for showcasing a diverse set of global household names alongside a plethora of emerging new talent each year.
In 2018, over 70 artists including Haçienda Classiçal, Basement Jaxx (DJ Set), Wiley, Example & DJ Wire, Jax Jones, Stefflon Don, Aurora, Young Fathers, Rae Morris, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Trevor Nelson, Gilles Peterson plus many more will perform live at the summer festival.
Over two days, LIMF plays homage to Liverpool's ever-evolving relationship with music and its creative cultural diversity. With up to 18 hours of live music from Pop to Urban to House across three stages - as well as fun activities for all the family to enjoy - LIMF offers a little something for everyone.

With recent government cuts, Liverpool City Council introduced ticketing in 2018.
LIMF Academy
In addition to the summer festival, LIMF has an award-winning programme called LIMF Academy which gives emerging talent exclusive access to activities and insider know-how from the music industry. Aimed at artists, bands, producer-DJs between the ages 16-25 from across Merseyside, LIMF Academy is a unique opportunity to encourage young residents to kick-start their music career.
For those selected, the Academy offers:
- Performance opportunities at LIMF Summer Jam and other regular showcases
- Access to an exclusive masterclass day featuring panels of top industry experts
On top of this, for three of the most exceptional young artists, bands or producer-DJs, the Academy also offers a 12 month Elite Talent Development Programme, which includes:
- Financial investment in their career
- A live session for BBC Introducing
- Creation of professional press assets – photographs, biographies and EPKs
- Monthly masterclass sessions with industry leaders on topics such as marketing, promotion, performance, distribution, media training, funding opportunities and much more
- Year round mentoring by an industry professional
- Showcase opportunities to key press and industry in both Liverpool and London
