Prime ministers

• The Prime Minister in movie The Dish. Fond of liquid lunches. Party unknown - possibly Liberal Party of Australia. Played by Bille Brown. (NOTE: The genuine historical Prime Minister during the time the movie is set was John Gorton, a Liberal.)
• Mr. Seaton in movie and novel On the Beach. Played on film by Bill Hunter.
• Andy, in "Bart vs. Australia", an episode of The Simpsons. Likes to sit naked in a rubber ring in the middle of a billabong.
• Martin Toohey, in Secret City (TV series). Member of the Australian Labor Party. Played by Alan Dale.

Ministers

• Sir Les Patterson, Minister for the Arts (or the "Yarts" as he pronounces it) and later Minister for Sport. Played by Barry Humphries in various media, including a film (Sir Les Patterson Saves the World).
• Ian Bradley, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade in TV series The Code. Played by David Wenham.
• Catriona Bailey, Minister for Justice and Attorney-General. Senator for New South Wales and member of the Australian Labor Party. Played by Jacki Weaver in Secret City (TV series).
• Mal Paxton, Minister of Defence. Senator for Western Australia and member of the Australian Labor Party. Played by Daniel Wyllie in Secret City (TV series).

Premiers

• Lionel Kray, Premier of Victoria in movie Bad Eggs. Possibly Liberal Party of Australia. Played by Shaun Micallef
• Kate Ballard, Premier of Victoria in TV series Party Tricks. Labor Party, eventually loses election in end of series. Member of Parliament for Richmond. Former Minister for Planning, Education, and Deputy Premier. Succeeded Rob Hutchens as Premier a year and a half prior to the start of the series. Played by Asher Keddie.
• David McLeod, Premier of Victoria in TV series Party Tricks. Liberal Party, eventually wins election at end of series. Liberal Candidate for Premier, and Candidate for Mount Waverley. Succeeded Neil Thorby as Leader of the Liberals in Victoria. Played by Rodger Corser.

Members of Parliament

• Tony Dunne, Australian Labor Party member in TV show Corridors of Power. Removed from ALP front bench due to reshuffle - later declared he was leaving the party but died before he could tell anyone. Wife Tania presumably won his safe seat. Played by Jeremy Sims
• Michael "Mick" Fielding, Liberal Party of Australia member in TV show Corridors of Power. Bumbling fool; avowed monarchist and John Howard supporter, who won his seat when his father, the previous MP, died. Played by Philip Quast.
• Gabrielle Kovich, regular character in The Secret Life of Us, was elected to the House of Representatives in the third season finale
• Wally Norman, MP in The Honourable Wally Norman (film)
• Senator Fox- fictional Senator who appears in the second series of the children's TV Show Ship to Shore.

Jackie Weaver - Played Julie Buckley an independent MP in TV Series House Rules 1988 This is based on actual result of the federal seat of Indi in 1928 the sitting Country Party MP Robert Cook failed to lodge his nomination papers.

State Politicians

• Helen Paxton, Australian Labor Party State MP for Western Australia and wife of Defence Minister Mal Paxton. Featured in Secret City (TV series).
• Trevor Bailey, Deputy Leader of the Victorian Liberal Party and Interim Opposition Leader in the TV series Party Tricks. Played by Adam Zwar.
• Paula Doumani, Deputy Premier of Victoria and Minister for Transport in the TV series Party Tricks. Member of the Australian Labor Party. Played by Doris Younane.
• Duncan Guthrie, former President of the Victorian Liberal Party in the TV series Party Tricks. Played by Neil Melville.
• Charlene Wills, Victorian Minister for Industry in the novels Stiff and The Brush Off by Shane Moloney. Australian Labor Party.
