- 15 - 18 May 1948 - diplomatic relations were established at the mission level.
- 11 February 1953 - diplomatic relations interrupted by the Soviet government.
- 6 - 15 July 1953 - diplomatic relations were restored.
- 29 April - 12 May 1954 - Mission converted to the embassy.
- 10 June 1967 - diplomatic relations interrupted again by the Soviet government.
- 3 January 1991 - diplomatic relations restored at the level of general consulates.
- 18 October 1991 - general consulates becomes embassies.
