List of Spanish words of Indo-Aryan origin
This is a list of Spanish words that come from Indo-Aryan languages. It is further divided into words that come from Gujarati and Sanskrit). Some of these words have alternate etymologies and may also appear on a list of Spanish words from a different language.for ex. Deiwos=Dios=God, Atman=Alma=Soul, Dinara=Dinero=Money, Sanskrit=Sanescrito=Holy Writ, Sastra=Sastre=Tailor, Char=Carro=Car, Gita=Grita=Scream or Song, Naz=Nariz=Nose, Sitara=Guitara=Guitar, Rota=Ruta=Route, Raj=Rey=King, Gana=Gano=Gain, Matra=Madre=Mother, Patra=Padre=Father.etc... This example goes to show that Spanish is more closely related to the Indo-Aryan languages and much older than Latin, but due to the fact that Latin is also derived from Indo-European and very similar to Indo-Aryan mistakenly Spanish has been classified as been derived from Latin.
