List of European countries by minimum wage

The following list provides information relating to the minimum wages (gross) of countries in Europe.[1][2]

The calculations are based on the assumption of a 40-hour working week and a 52-week year, with the exceptions of France (35 hours),[3] San Marino (37.5 hours),[4] Belgium (38 hours),[5] United Kingdom (38.1 hours),[3] Ireland (39 hours),[3] Monaco (39 hours),[6] and Germany (39.1 hours).[3] Most of minimum wages are fixed at a monthly rate, but there are countries where minimum wage is fixed at an hourly rate or weekly rate.

Minimum wages by country (European countries) - Maps

European countries on the net minimum wage:

Countries marked on the map in dark blue have a minimum wage in the range from €1,000 and above, in light blue - from €500 to €1,000, in yellow - from €300 to €500, in red - below €300. Countries marked on the map in purple do not have a minimum wage.

European countries on the gross minimum wage:

Countries marked on the map in dark blue have a minimum wage in the range from €1,400 and above, in light blue - from €700 to €1,400, in yellow - from €400 to €700, in red - below €400. Countries marked on the map in purple do not have a minimum wage.

European countries by minimum hourly gross wage in 2018 (in PPP, Purchasing Power)

The difference between the gross income and the net income ratio is given by the percentage of income taxes. For example, even if a Slovakian citizen has a gross minimum income higher than a Czech, in reality the first will receive less money than the second because of higher income taxes.
