The rusty-belted tapaculo (Liosceles thoracicus) is a species of bird in the Rhinocryptidae family. First described by Philip Lutley Sclater in 1865, it is monotypic within the genus Liosceles.[2] It is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru,[1] where its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.[3]
