Lionel Vital (born July 15, 1963) is the Director of College Scouting for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL). He is a former American football running back for the Washington Redskins and in the Canadian Football League (CFL) for the Calgary Stampeders and Saskatchewan Roughriders. He was drafted by the Redskins in the seventh round of the 1985 NFL Draft. He played college football at Nicholls State University.

Vital holds the NFL record for most rushing yards per game in a career (115.3).

Previously, Vital served as the Director of Player Personnel for the Atlanta Falcons organization.

Vital has previously scouted for the Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots, New York Jets, and Cleveland Browns.
