Lalith Wasantha Silva Kaluperuma (born 25 June 1949, Colombo) is a former Sri Lankan Test cricketer and ODI cricketer, who played first-class cricket from 1970 to 1983. He is the 6th Sri Lankan Test cap.

Early days

He was educated at Kalutara Vidyalaya & Nalanda College Colombo.

International career

He was recognised as a good off spinner in Sri Lankan domestic cricket before their elevation to Test status, and played in Sri Lanka's inaugural Test against England at Colombo in 1981/82. However, Kaluperuma bowled 21 wicketless overs, followed by six wicketless overs in the next Test. It was evident that the captain Duleep Mendis had little faith in him, and he never returned to international cricket. He joined an unofficial Sri Lankan tour of South Africa in 1982/83, which led to a ban from international cricket.

Beyond cricket

In 2003, he joined the board of national selectors in Sri Lanka, and two years later he was made chairman of the board.
