Kountze Independent School District

Kountze Independent School District is a public school district based in Kountze, Texas (USA).

In addition to Kountze, the district serves the unincorporated community of Honey Island and Wildwood.

John C. Ferguson currently serves as the district's superintendent. The Board of Trustees consists of: Steve Eppes (president), Susie Wilson (vice president), Ben House, Brian Williams, Don McDonald, Bendy Lee, and Steve Martinka.

Donna Moody (Secretary) did not seek re-election. Brian E. Williams and Rick Drew were the two candidates for this seat. Williams defeated Drew, with Williams coming in with 54% of the vote and Drew receiving 46%.

The other races were uncontested.

  • Kountze (or Penland) Middle: 7th and 8th Grade
  • Kountze High: 9th through 12th Grade
