KIMS Hospital is the largest independent private hospital in Kent. It is situated in Maidstone and treats privately insured, self-funding and NHS patients. It is situated on the Kent Medical Campus, off Junction 7 of the M20 Motorway.

History

The Hospital opened in 2014[1] on the Kent Medical Campus following a 10 year planning period. The Hospital was built by Vinci Construction.

Facilities

The hospital has 72 en-suite bedrooms, 20 day case beds, five operating theatres, one endoscopy suite and one Cardiac Catheterisation Lab. There are also 17 consultation/examination rooms, An imaging facility containing MRI, CT, X-Ray, Mammography and Ultrasound Scanners. The Hospital also contains the only private Nuclear Medicine department in Kent.

The Hospital also provides some on-site pathology services such as histology, microbiology and blood sciences.

Awards

In November 2015, the Interventional Cardiology team at KIMS Hospital won the LaingBuisson Nursing Practice Award[4] .

In November 2016, KIMS Hospital received an "Excellence Award" for the importance it places on the health and well being of their staff. The Kent Healthy Business Awards[5] was part of a national initiative funded by Public Health England and driven locally by Maidstone Borough Council and Kent County Council[6]

In May 2017, KIMS Hospital's in-house recruitment team won the "Best In-house Recruiter" award at the National Recruiter Awards.
