Kathleen O'Connor

Kathleen O'Connor (born 30 July 1934) is an Irish former Clann na Poblachta politician.[1]

A National School teacher by profession, she was elected to Dáil Éireann as a Clann na Poblachta Teachta Dála (TD) for the Kerry North constituency at the Kerry North by-election on 29 February 1956, following the death of her father Johnny Connor.[2] She did not stand at the 1957 general election, and retired from politics. She was 21 years, 7 months old when elected, making her the fourth youngest ever person elected to the Dáil. She was the first woman to succeed her father at a by-election to Dáil Éireann and the first elected to the Dáil in the Kerry North constituency.[3]
