Kashan Airport (IATA: KKS, ICAO: OIFK) (Persian: فرودگاه کاشان) is one of the oldest airports in Iran, which became operational in 1954. The airport is 12 kilometers southeast of city of Kashan in distance between the two main and transit road, Kashan - Isfahan and Kashan - Yazd, also Tehran - Bandar Abbas railway line in the south of the pass.[1]

History

In 1373 the decision was taken to build the airport in the city of Kashan. For this purpose, a land area of about 800 hectares in the southeast of Kashan was selected.
