Kamperlijntje
The Kamperlijntje is a railway in the Netherlands running since 10 May 1865 between the cities of Zwolle and Kampen in the province Overijssel. The most northern part of the Utrecht–Kampen railway (Centraalspoorweg), the 12 km long section now has two stations which are its termini: Zwolle and Kampen. The journey between the two stations takes about ten minutes.
The line is operated by the Nederlandse Spoorwegen (with DMUs of type Buffel departing twice an hour) and funded in part by the province of Overijssel and the municipalities of Zwolle and Kampen. A conversion of the line to light-rail has begun in January 2017; it was made unavailable from June to August that year. The line's renovation is scheduled to be completed in December 2017 and the present NS service will be replaced by three rotations per hour. The line will be exploited by Syntus with Stadler FLIRT electrical trains and cost 17.5 million euros per year to be operated. A new intermediary station, Zwolle Stadshagen, will be opened.
