Karoly Honfi

Karoly Honfi (October 25, 1930 in Budapest, Hungary—August 14, 1996 in Budapest, Hungary) was a Hungarian chess International master. He was named a grandmaster shortly after his death.[1][2]

Biography

Honfi was born in Budapest on October 25, 1930. His father was also a successful chess player.[3] He was the vice champion of Hungary in 1958, and became an International Master in 1962.[4]
