Julia Louise Lopez (née Dockerill, born June 1984) is a British Conservative Party politician.[1] She is the Member of Parliament (MP) for Hornchurch and Upminster in Greater London.[2]
Early life
She was born in Harlow, Essex and raised in Stansted.[3] She attended the local state primary and secondary schools and subsequently went to Queens' College, Cambridge, where she studied Social and Political Sciences.[4]
In September 2017 she married her British-Australian partner (who was born in El Salvador) and took his surname Lopez.[3]
Career
Dockerill became a Councillor in Tower Hamlets in 2014, where she represented the ward of St Katharine's and Wapping.[5][6]
In November 2016, when she was acting as an aide to Conservative vice-chair, Mark Field, Lopez was photographed carrying sensitive notes about a Brexit meeting in Downing Street.[7]
