Currently at Texas A&M University, he has also held appointments at the University of Virginia, Rice University, SMU's Cox School of Business, and Stanford. His courses are perennial campus favorites.

Eliot is also a bestselling author, with top titles including "Overachievement" and "Help the Helper". He advocates that success generally stems from developing sound and consistent philosophies, self-evaluation measures, perspective, confidence, and trust.
