Jinx (born October 6, 1994) is the nom de plume of American author, Gigi McClure, who wrote The Get Spooky Series and Vicious Vile Venom, which was a 2016 Watty award recipient in the New Voices category.[1] Her debut novel, SPOOK, book one of The Get Spooky Series, is a Readers' Favorite 5-star review recipient and averages a high 4-star rating on Goodreads.[2][3] Many of her works can be read for free on Wattpad in their unedited form, and have received positive reviews from book bloggers.[4][5]

Jinx was born in Goshen, Indiana, but brought up in Southern California. She cites her writing influences as Chuck Palahniuk, Janet Evanovich, David Sedaris, and Spencer Hoshino.[6] Her short stories "Moving Up" and "Moving Down" were published under the pseudonym Gabe McClure in NaNoWriMo anthologies Believe Me Not: An Unreliable Anthology and It's About Time: 2nd Annual NanNo Los Angeles Short Story Anthology.[7]

In addition to writing, Jinx also has an extensive background as an actress, with an emphasis in theater productions.[8] She recently started a Thunderclap campaign in a bid to get cast as Felicia Hardy (Black Cat) in Marvel's upcoming film Silver & Black, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood.[9]
