Flint Eastwood is an indie rock band from Detroit, Michigan signed to Neon Gold Records. The band was formed in 2010 with two different names, and then as Flint Eastwood in 2012, by sister-brother duo Jax Anderson and Seth Anderson, a.k.a. Syblyng. Their music style is often described as "spaghetti western inspired".

Flint Eastwood has been reported as the band name as well as the stage name for frontwoman Jax Anderson.[1] Jax and her brother Syblyng regularly tour the United States, performing in venues and music festivals of varying sizes.

History

Jax and Seth Anderson launched their joint music career as the band Apple Trees & Tangerines, winners of SESAC’s "College Battle of the Bands" in 2010 in Las Vegas.[2] Later in 2010, moving to Los Angeles and calling themselves Power, they released the single "Sold My Soul to the Radio" and provided the single "Can You Save Me" as the theme song for the USA Network drama Covert Affairs.[3][1] They moved back to Detroit, and in 2012 took the name Flint Eastwood.[4] Bringing on two additional members, they released their first EP in 2013 titled Late Nights in Bolo Ties, led by the pre-EP release of the single "Billy The Kid" in 2012.[5][6] This song was used in the trailer for the feature film To Write Love on Her Arms, and they also provided the song "The Devil's Gun" for the film's soundtrack. After the death of their mother, in 2015, they released a reflective EP titled Small Victories.[7][8][9][10] In 2016, the band collaborated with fellow Detroit indie rockers Gosh Pith to release a non-EP single "Saviors", and also featured on Seattle-based indie artist Manatee Commune's single "What We've Got". Upon getting signed with Neon Gold Records, they released the EP Broke Royalty, accompanied by two music videos.

In 2018, the band ventured into LGBT music with Jax's coming out in the release of the single Real Love in June.[11]
