James R. Dunlap

James R. Dunlap (Jim) is a Principal at The Scowcroft Group, a Washington, D.C. based firm focused on investment banking in emerging markets. Jim's advisory and asset management work is primarily in Africa. His experience in Africa runs deep, as does his commitment to wilderlands and wildlife. He was a WILD Foundation intern in Namibia in 1988 and subsequently worked for the International Republican Institute in Luanda, Angola. He has also had several executive management and trading roles for a large British commodity firm and was based in Harare, Johannesburg, Lusaka, London and New York. From 2001-2003, he served as the Special Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs at the U.S. State Department where he focused on economic issues and environmental conservation. He and Lara raise their children on a farm in Northern Virginia.

Dunlap is on the board of directors of the WILD Foundation.
