Izhathu Mannanar

The Izhathu Mannanars were an Thiyya landowning dynasty of Malabar, in the present day Kannur and Kasaragod districts of India. They may have had a Buddhist heritage.[1] The word Mannanar derives from mannan, meaning king and ar, which pluralises it.[2]
