Ivo Brešan (27 May 1936[1] – 3 January 2017) was a Croatian playwright, novelist, and screenwriter, known for political satire. His work included screenplays written with his son Vinko.[2]
Personal life
He was born in Vodice, Šibenik-Knin County, Kingdom of Yugoslavia on 27 May 1936.
He was married for late Croatian writer Jela Brešan (née Godlar). She was from Slavonia. In 1964, they got a son Vinko, who is film director.
His wife Jela died at the end of 2016, and he died in January 2017.
He died after long and severe illness on January 3, 2017 in Zagreb, Croatia.
