The two-banded puffbird (Hypnelus bicinctus) is a near-passerine bird, native to eastern Colombia and Venezuela. The puffbird has an off-white throat, buff underparts, and two dark brown chest bands. This species and the russet-throated puffbird were previously considered conspecific. In fact, some taxonomic authorities (including the American Ornithological Society still consider it so.
