Chih-Wei Hu (Chinese: 胡智為; born November 4, 1993) is a Taiwanese professional baseball pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Career

Hu was signed by the Minnesota Twins as an international free agent in August 2012. He made his professional debut in 2013 with the Gulf Coast Twins. In 2014, he pitched with the Elizabethton Twins and Cedar Rapids Kernels.[1] After the season, he played for Chinese Taipei at the 2014 Asian Games. Hu started 2015 with the Fort Myers Miracle.[2]

On July 31, 2015, the Twins traded Hu and Alexis Tapia to the Tampa Bay Rays for Kevin Jepsen.[3]

Hu was named to the roster of the World team for the 2016 All-Star Futures Game.[4] The Rays added him to their 40-man roster after the season.[5]
