History

Originally it was to have been called the Hsinchu Sadaharu Oh Baseball Stadium (Chinese: 新竹縣立王貞治棒球場); however, during its construction the then President of the Republic of China, Chiang Kai-shek, died, and the stadium was renamed in his honor.
