Hippopotamomus is the fifth studio album by British musician Momus, released in 1991 through Creation Records.

Hippopotamomus was conceived by Momus as "a record about sex for children; at least, a record about sex for the child in all of us: the part of us that refuses guilt, that plays with mud pies, that soils its nappy, that loves to suck and be sucked". The album was devised in part as a tribute to the work of Serge Gainsbourg, who had passed away prior to its' recording, and to whom the album is dedicated in its' sleeve notes. Gainsbourg's 1973 album Vu de l'extérieur, which had also tackled sexual and scatological themes in a broad, carefree manner, in particular served as inspiration.

The original artwork for Hippopotamomus depicted a cartoon hippopotamus with the body of Michelin Man, the mascot of French tire manufacturing company Michelin. However, further pressings of the album had the body removed after Michelin threatened to file legal action against Momus, which also led to the track "Michelin Man" being omitted.
