Helen Almira Shafer (born Newark, New Jersey, 23 September 1839; died Wellesley, Massachusetts, 20 January 1894) was a president of Wellesley College.

After graduating from Oberlin College in 1863, she was a teacher of mathematics at Central High School in St. Louis, Missouri, from 1865 until 1875. In 1877, she became professor of mathematics at Wellesley. She was made president of this institution in January 1888.
