Hajmola is a digestive tablet manufactured by Dabur in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. It consists of a variety of traditional Ayurvedic herbs and is supposed to control dyspepsia, ease in digestion and control flatulence. Hajmola comes in five flavours: Original, Nimbu (Lemon), Imli (Tamarind), Pudina (Peppermint), Amrud (Guava) and Anardana (Pomegranate). The tablets are packed and marketed in the form of sachets or bottles. It also consists of black pepper and salt.

Its main ingredients are:

· Kalimirch (Black Pepper) – gastro-intestinal stimulant

· Pippali (Long Pepper) – carminative and expectorant

· Sunthi satva (Ginger) – Which is useful digestive tonic.

· Nimbu satva (Lemon) – Lemon is a digestive stimulant

· Jeeraka (Cummin seeds) – Jeera is an antispasmodic

· Samudra Lavan ( sea salt)- It stimulates secretion of saliva and gastricjuices

· Sarkara (Sugar) – It is used for taste, secretion of saliva.

· Krishnalavana (Black Salt) – Kala namak or black salt is carminative and digestive

Candy Form

Hajmola Candy is a small sweet which is intended to perform the same function as Hajmola tablets. It comes in several flavours including Aalbela Aam and Chulbuli Imli. It is also very popular among children in India. This product is also sold in Nepal, USA and Australia in some Indian supermarkets. It can also be found in Canada, in some Indian stores.
