Guðbrandur published the first complete Icelandic translation of the bible in 1584.

Guðbrand's Bible (Icelandic: Guðbrandsbiblía) was the first Icelandic language translation of the Bible. The translation was completed in 1584 by Guðbrandur Þorláksson, bishop of Hólar.
