Grid Nie Mountain

Grid Nie Mountain is located in Litang County, Sichuan province in China, and rises 6,224 metres (20,420 ft) above sea level. The mountain is considered holy and sometimes called the "13th Goddess". The lower slopes of the mountain bear spruce, fir, and alpine oak forests, while the highest peaks are snow-capped. Grid Nie Mountain has comprehensive moraine landforms, and has never been climbed. It constitutes the largest and best preserved primitive natural ecosystem in Litang County.

The mountain is also home to the Lenggu Temple, the birthplace of the Buddhist white sect. The temple preserves holy relics of Gesar of Ling, including handprints and footprints left on the stone, and a princess's tent and chair 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) away from the temple proper.
