Sembcorp Green Infra is a renewable energy company that generates power and currently operating in India. Sembcorp Green Infra is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Energy India Limited (SEIL)[1].

In 2015, Sembcorp acquired a majority stake in one of India’s leading renewable energy firms, since renamed Sembcorp Green Infra. As of 31 December 2017, Sembcorp Green Infra has 34 wind energy assets with a total power generation capacity of more than 1.7 GW in operation and under development located in the renewable resource-rich southern, western and central regions of India.

In August 2017, Sembcorp entered into an agreement to acquire IDFC Private Equity Fund III’s remaining stake in Sembcorp Green Infra.[1]

As on 2018 Sembcorp Green Infra's business consisted of 34 wind energy assets with a total power generation capacity of approximately 1.69 GW located across seven states in India. It also has three solar power assets with a total power generation capacity of 0.04 GW located in the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat, India.[2]

Sembcorp Energy India (SEIL)

Sembcorp Energy India Limited (SEIL)[3] is a leading independent power producer (IPP) in India. Formerly known as Thermal Powertech Corporation India Limited, SEIL owns 100% of both Sembcorp Gayatri Power Limited and Sembcorp Green Infra Limited. It has a balanced portfolio of thermal and renewable energy assets totalling approx. 4.37 gigawatts capacity in operation and under construction, and is led by a strong management team with extensive experience and a successful track record of identifying, developing and operating power generation assets across the thermal and renewable power sectors in India.

Sembcorp Energy India Limited is part of the Sembcorp Industries (SCI)[4] Group. SCI is a leading utilities, marine and urban development group with international operations, total assets of over S$22 billion and over 7,000 employees. Listed on the main board of the Singapore Exchange, SCI is a component stock of the Straits Times Index, several MSCI and FTSE indices, as well as the SGX Sustainability Leaders Index and the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index.
