Government College of Engineering, Nagpur

Government College of Engineering, Nagpur (Marathi:शासकीय अभियांत्रिकी महाविद्यालय,नागपूर) is a newly formed Government College of Engineering in the state of Maharashtra started from academic year 2016-17. College comes under the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur. College has big campus in Khapri area of Nagpur city.

This college has been established with the aim of imparting top quality technical education to the students particularly from semiurban and rural areas to groom them into skilled technocrats replete with ethical and moral values and discipline in their profession as well as a strong awareness of their social responsibility. The institute is owned by Govt. of Maharashtra and is approved by AICTE, New Delhi. It has its own campus spread over 11.67 acres of land. Technical education in various disciplines such as Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunication and Computer Science and Engineering is provided in this institute. The institute, presently offering four year Under Graduate Programmes in engineering is affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur.

This institute strives to create an intellectually stimulating environment that fosters creativity, innovation, research and professional activities. For a healthy overall development of the institute various organizational positions such as Dean Administration, Dean Academics, Dean Student activities, Dean Research and Development and Dean Infrastructure and Liaisoning have been created to ensure a proper focus on vital aspects of the institute. The results are evident in the form of excellent academic results at RTM, Nagpur university examinations.

This young institute has already conducted many workshops and training prorammes for technical upgradation of students, faculty as well as nonteaching staff. It has signed 5 MOU’s with prime institutes such as VNIT for infrastructural development, S.P. College, Mumbai for R & D and student exchange programmes, MCED-Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurship Development for development of budding entrepreneurs, Govt. College of Engineering, Chandrapur and Govt. College of Engineering Jalgaon for Training Placement and academic development of students.It is an autonomous institute

In a short span, the institute has taken efforts for strengthening the Industry-Institute Interaction to prepare the technocrats for the corporate world by introducing them to various expectations of the industry from the academia.
