Gosauseen

Gosauseen are three lakes in the south-western part of Upper Austria. Their environment is part of the Austrian Alps, situated near the town of Gosau in Austria, that in turn is near to Salzburg. The embedding part of the Alps is called the Dachstein mountains, partially formed and today co-dominated in terms of waters by its glacier remains.

Vorderer Gosausee

This is the biggest of the three lakes. It has a aerial passenger line at its more accessible end.

Gosaulake

This water is the middle of three lakes, where the other two are called the front and the rear "Gosausee". The word "See" means lake, whilst the word "Lake" means a flat, very surface level changing and sometimes even dry running water, as for example a salt lake can be seen. In this case rain and water from tawing snow feeds that water. Its main inflow comes from the not so small rear lake and the main out flow goes to the much larger front lake.

Hinterer Gosausee

This is the most remote and middle sized lake in the series.
