Cuthbert Woodroffe

Sir George Cuthbert Manning Woodroffe KBE[1] (known as Cuthbert; 17 May 1918 - 29 November 2012) was a Barbadian Anglican bishop. He was a long serving Anglican Bishop of the Windward Islands from 1969 until 1986; and for the last six of that time Primate of the West Indies.[2]

He was born on 17 May 1921 and educated at Codrington College, Barbados [3] and ordained in 1945.[4] His first post was as a Curate in St Vincent[5] after which he held incumbencies in Barbados.[6] His last appointment before elevation to the Episcopate saw him returning to St Vincent as Sub-Dean of its cathedral.
