Geoffrey Sambell

Geoffrey Tremayne Sambell CMG (28 October 1914 19 December 1980[1]) was an Australian Anglican bishop.

Sambell was educated at Melbourne High School and the University of Melbourne. He was ordained in 1940.[2] He began his ordained ministry as an army chaplain,[3] after which he was director of the Melbourne Diocesan Centre[4] and Archdeacon of Essendon.[5] He was Bishop Coadjutor of Diocese from 1962 to 1969 when he was elected Archbishop of Perth[6] and Metropolitan of Western Australia,[7] posts he held to his death.
