Gaspar Dias

Gaspar Dias (died 1671), a Portuguese painter, studied at Rome under Raphael and Michelangelo, and on his return home devoted himself to the production of church pictures. He died at Lisbon.

Gasper Dias and Dona Paula are two fictitious characters in Indian stories related to Goa.Legend has it that Paula was a beautiful princess, the niece of one of the Portuguese Governers.
