HC GKS Katowice is a professional ice hockey team in Katowice, Poland. The team currently plays in the Polska Hokej Liga, the highest level of ice hockey in Poland. The team did not participate in the 2015-16 season due to financial constraints, but returned for the 2016-17 season. In 2017 the name of the club was changed to TAURON KH GKS Katowice, as the club is currently sponsored by Tauron Group. The club finished 2017-19 season on the 2nd place.
History
The team was founded in 1964. Katowice won six Polska Liga Hokejowa titles between 1958 and 1970.
