History

Ghacks[9] was created in 2005 as a development blog for a software called Google Hacks. Trademark issues made the founder of the site pick ghacks as the domain name. The software was soon thereafter discontinued and Ghacks turned from a development type blog to a software and online news oriented blog.

The site has held a[10] Christmas Giveaway in the past three years which is an annual event where commercial software is being given away to readers of the site. This has since then been picked up by other tech blogs who are now also holding giveaways in the Christmas period as well.
