G&G Entertainment is a musician management/consulting company specializing in radio promotion, marketing, and artist development. The company was founded in 2004 and is managed by George Cappellini Sr. and his son George Jr. The father-son team currently represents artists such as Pop Evil, Avatar, Red Sun Rising, The Blue Stones.

History

George Cappellini Sr. is a marketing and promotion executive with a 30-year track record of establishing high-profile artists in the music industry. From 1986-1995, Cappellini served as the Vice President of Promotions for Geffen Records, managing 22 field personnel on all formats of radio promotion: Pop, Adult Contemporary, Rock, and Modern. While there, he helped launch and develop the careers of Guns N’ Roses, Tesla, Whitesnake, The Black Crows, Michael W. Smith and Cher. Additionally, he helped to strengthen the prominence of artists such as Don Henley, Robbie Robertson, Aerosmith and Peter Gabriel by developing strategies to exploit all forms of radio and media.

From 1996-2004, Cappellini was the Vice President of Rock Promotion at Elektra. He created innovative branding, marketing and promotional opportunities for all rock bands on the label, including Metallica, AC/DC, Staind, Pantera, Jackson Browne, The Doors, Mötley Crüe and Phish. He also developed launch strategies for new artists including Jet, SpaceHog, Damageplan and Down.

G&G Entertainment was founded by George Cappellini Sr. in 2004 with the mission to consult major record labels and musicians in the radio world. "Sr." consulted majors label rock promotion departments such as Roadrunner, Island, Epic, Columbia and RCA. In 2009, his son George Cappellini Jr. joined G&G Entertainment full-time after beginning his career in the music industry as an administrative assistant in the Rock Radio Promotions Department at Columbia Records. In that role, "Jr" was the Assistant to the VP of Rock Promotion of whom was working with artist such as System of A Down, Aerosmith, David Gilmour. After 6 months with Columbia records "Jr" joined Island/Def Jam as a Regional Promotion Representative from 2006-2009. The label was one of the biggest at the time at Pop Radio. Working artists such as Jay-Z, Fall Out Boy, The Killers, Rihanna, Kanye West, and Jon Bon Jovi to name a few. "Jr" now runs the Rock Radio Promotion department at eOne Entertainment, where he takes charge of all radio promotion efforts that the label releases. Pop Evil & Avatar are currently signed to the label.

George Jr. discovered Pop Evil in 2007 as a local band making major noise on WGRD 97.9 in Grand Rapids, MI. He worked with the band to develop a presentable demo disc for "Sr" to hear for the first time in 2007. "Sr" Instantly recognized Pop Evil's raw talent and fell in love with their sound. Along with George Jr., the father-son team decided to take Pop Evil under their wing and subsequently helped them land a major record deal with Universal Republic in 2009 after being upstreamed from Pazzo Music (Fontana Distribution)(2009). This was the first act to gain traction under management for G&G Entertainment. Pop Evil has gone on to scan over 600,000 albums, 1 Million Singles, 150 Million Streams, and 4 #1 Rock Singles to date.

In 2012, G&G signed a Swedish Metal band named Avatar. Avatar has since become a powerhouse metal group with melodic sensibility. They are a worldwide touring act and have sold over 100,000 Albums in their career. The recently won Revolver & Metal Hammer Magazines Best Breakthrough Artist. They were recently nominated in 2017 for the AP Magazine's Best Breakthrough Band and Breakthrough Band for Loudwire.com.

In 2014, G&G partnered with The Elevation Group to Co/Manage Akron Based Rock Group Red Sun Rising. Shortly thereafter the management team secured a recording contract with Razor & Tie, now Concord Music Group/ Razor & Tie. The band is the first rock group in almost 20 years to have two straight #1 Rock Singles on their debut album. They were also nominated for iHeart Media Best New Rock/Alt Group and almost named Billboard Magazines Top 10 Mainstream Rock Artist of 2016.

In 2016, G&G partners once again with The Elevation Group to Co/Manage Windsor, ON based, Blues/Alternative Rock band The Blue Stones. In just a few short months the management team secured a recording contract with Washington Square a new imprint of Razor & Tie & Concord Music Group. They are set to release their debut album in 2018.
