Fellowship of the Royal Astronomical Society (FRAS) is a fellowship granted to individuals whose application is approved by the Royal Astronomical Society (RAS).[2]
Fellowship
As of 2016 there were around 3,800 Fellows,[1] about half being PhD-level professional scientists; a quarter postgraduate researchers or retired scientists; and the remainder amateur scientists and undergraduates.[2] Around a third of Fellows are based outside the United Kingdom.[2] Fellows are entitled to use the post-nominal letters FRAS.[2]
