Fariha Razzaq Haroon was a Pakistani politician and journalist who was a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from 2002 to 2007.

Early life and education

Razzaq was born to Nishat Afza.[1] She hails from Toba Tek Singh where her family was operating a radio station since 2007.[2]

She earned a bachelor of arts degree.[3]

She was a journalist[4] who remained Director Public Relations with the Jang Group of Newspapers.[5]

Razzaq married Hazar Khan Bijarani in 2008.[4]

Political career

Razzaq was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Sindh as a candidate for Pakistan Peoples Party on a reserved seat for women in Pakistani general election, 2002.[5][3][1]

Death

Razzaq was found dead in her home in Karachi on 1 February 2018 along with her husband Hazar Khan Bijarani.[6][7] Family and PPP have confirmed that the couple suffered gunshot wounds.[8] Police said the death appeared to be a murder-suicide.[9]
