Garbage Bin (cartoon strip)

Garbage Bin is a popular cartoon strip from India created in 2011 by Faisal Mohammed. It is published in form of a webcomic on Facebook with more than one million followers today.[1][2][3]

The main characters of the comic are Guddu, his best friend Shan, his gang and his family. Guddu is a 10-year-old kid of 1990s, whose middle-class wit tickles readers and leaves them in nostalgia. The mother-son and school scenes created in strip makes readers nostalgic, co-relating them with their childhood memories of family and school life.[2] Garbage Bin gags make one realize that every middle-class kid during the 1990s lived a similar life with almost the same everyday incidents and accidents.[3][4][1]

Guddu is inspired by the creator of cartoon Faisal Mohammed and Shan is inspired from Md Shan Nawaz, his best friend and co-founder of Garbage Bin Studios.[1]With a modest beginning in 2011, the strip has crossed over one million followers today on Facebook.
